About Vi

My name is Viola Parker, but I go by Vi.  I am a 55 year old Southern woman born and raised in good ole Alabama.  I am divorced, and a mother to a beautiful 21, soon to be 22 year old daughter that is about to graduate from undergraduate school at Birmingham Southern College.  I grew up and currently live in Montgomery.  I live here with my 10 month old mixed breed puppy, Mabel Sue.  I love Jesus.  He is my Lord and Savior and without Him I would be totally lost.  I strive to be more like Him every day of my life.  I am not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but Jesus and I are working on it.  I can say, I am not the person I was before Him, so I am making progress!

I am the Broker in my family’s Real Estate and Property Management business.  I do that part time and also run my Coaching Business.  It makes for a very busy life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I thrive in a busy lifestyle.  I have energy that would blow your mind.  My brain moves a million miles a minute and my body follows suit.

I have always been active.  In high school I was a dancer and even started college as a dance major.  Shortly after college, I became interested in and participating in Aerobics classes, and I became certified to teach them and spent most of my 20s and early 30s teaching step aerobics at various gyms around Montgomery.  I got married at 31, then had my daughter at 33.  I was working full time selling Real Estate also during that time in order to support my family.  So exercise fell by the wayside and I began to gain weight.  A lot of weight.  I gained a lot during my pregnancy and then I added to that over the years.  During the next 17 years, I would lose and gain 30-40 pounds over and over again.  I would jump on the latest diet bandwagon and lose weight, only to fall off and gain it all back plus some.  This was a vicious cycle.  My marriage was strained and I pushed all of that stress way down deep.  I was miserable for years.

Fast forward to 2017-2018.  My marriage fell apart along with my world.  It was the darkest time of my life.  It was only by the grace of God that I made it through.  He pulled me up out of that pit and set my feet on solid ground.  I decided then and there that I was longer going to hide behind masks.  I made a decision to get healthy and to do it in a way that I could sustain.  I began to make healthier choices and watched my calorie intake and started an exercise routine.  I had always enjoyed running, so I did that and I also got into strength training.  That is really when things turned around for me.   I discovered how my metabolism worked and what I needed to do.  It was the strength training that actually changed my body for the better.  I am stronger and healthier than I have ever been.  I eat a variety of foods from all food groups and even incorporate treats into my diet.  I do not deprive myself of anything.

I developed a passion to help women discover the same thing that I did.  I want to teach women how their metabolism and their body works so that they can make good decisions with their health and fitness choices.  I think knowledge is power and the more knowledge we have about our bodies, the more power we have over them.  There is so much misinformation out there, I want to be the source of good sound scientific facts about what works and what doesn’t.  That is my goal for ViBrant Fitness Company.  To help women find balance and strength in their wellness.

I am certified through The National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer and a Nutrition Coach.
